See, the publisher wanted a SF story, so I sent it in, only they didn't want any conflict (how do you write a story without conflict?) so I took out the conflict; and then they didn't want any science that their Evangelical parents would object to (how do you have SF without SCIENCE?)...Anyway, you get the idea.
